Gazipur Situated near Dhaka is a significant district of our country. Thisdistrict is rich not only in history and heritage but also it is adorned withnumerous nationally and internationally acclaimed institutions. Besides,industrialization has made the district enriched. It has become a largely populatedarea. However, the education system of higher secondary level is not so muchdeveloped here. Though there are some institutions for giving higher secondarystudies such as Bawal Badre Alam Govt. College,Gazipur, Cantt BoardCollege, KaziAzim UddinCollege, GazipurWomen Govt.College, Safiuddin Sarker Academy etc,they are not enough to provide for the increasing number of students. Besides,the education board restricts the limit of the number of students eager to beadmitted into the above-mentioned institutions. As a result, a large member ofstudents fails to get them selves admitted into a standard institution. Inthese circumstances, a demand for the establishment of a standardnon-government college was raised by the intellectuals, educationists,professionals and guardians of Gazipur. To respond to the demand a decision wasmade to set up a standard non-government college in Gazipur. Mr. MohammedShafiqul islam and Md.Anwar Sadat were given the responsibility to take initiatives in this regard.Thus our long cherished institution Gazipur city college came into existence.It is the name of a vision.
